The Van Zandts in America, a genealogical narration, is a collection of many sources. We are fortunate that much of the history of our family has been compiled by many dedicated researchers, without whom we would know nothing of our common heritage. To all of those who have worked so diligently to uncover our past, we offer our heartfelt thanks and our gratitude beyond words and to these we offer a special thank you!!

This web site consists of a brief history (HISTORY tab above) of our ancestry in America from the beginning of the first Van Zandt (or Van Sandt, van zant, van sant, vinsant, vinzant or other various spellings of the name that has come down through the generations)in the New Amsterdam Dutch colony on Manhattan Island in New York. It also has to do with the genealogical lineage of Garret Stoffelse VZ which is a seperate ancestral lineage of "Section B" of the OVERVIEW tab above. In addition, it has the genealogical lineage of the Author of this web site (SECTION A tab) of OVERVIEW that is part of the Garret Stoffelse VZ lineage.
